Spring Celebration: Wokingham's Independent Living Service Easter Festivities

Wokingham’s Independent Living Service supports people with learning disabilities living in their own homes. Over the years, an extended network of friendships has formed as people have got together socially, to pursue activities and interests. Earlier this month, old and news friends celebrated the start of spring at an Easter party organised by the team. One of our guests, Carly told us:

“Everyone seemed to really enjoy the party. It was nice to see my friends and chat to other people I didn’t really know. Wayne is a really good DJ, he does the disco on a Friday Night (Next Step). He played lots of great tunes like Cha Cha Slide – everyone got up to dance for that one. I also got to sing ‘One Direction, That’s What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘Ed Sheeren, Perfect’ my 2 favourite songs. The food was nice, especially the yummy cakes. I am looking forward to our next get-together - I’m going to help to organise it.”
