Our Out and About service
Our friendly Out and About service is here to help people with learning disabilities join in with local events and activities in the evening and at weekends.

Out and About Programme December 2025
Out and About activities
We match individuals with a fully-trained support worker who shares similar interests and who we think the person will get on with socially.
People then decide how many hours of support they want, and if they need transport to get to and from activities. This forms a ‘package’ which can be used to choose from activities, either as part of a group or individually with help from a support worker. Individuals can pick from our monthly brochure, which we will send to our members. We also arrange events ourselves if that’s what people want.
Among our most popular activities are:
- Bowling; fun for all ages and abilities on a Sunday morning
- Cooking classes - fortnightly cooking activities led by experienced staff

A highlight from our recent activities
The Out and About team had a fantastic time teaming up with local artist Ana for Halloween craft hosted at Sedero Lounge in Wokingham. Everyone got creative painting pumpkins and enjoying a fun, relaxed evening together. Thanks to all who joined, your spooky designs were amazing!
Meet the Team
Chris Davis – Service Coordinator, Out & About
Chris has spent over a decade in education, working as a teacher and most recently as a Deputy Headteacher and Head of School. Throughout his career, Chris has been driven by a passion for empowering people to reach their potential and creating supportive, inclusive environments.
Now, as Service Coordinator for the Out & About service, Chris is excited to work alongside families, colleagues, and customers to ensure everyone can access enjoyable and confidence-building activities.
Patrick Pritchett – Service Manager, Out & About
Patrick has spent most of his career working in Wokingham across a variety of roles, including as a primary school teacher and later as headteacher at three Wokingham schools. He has also worked in health and social care, supporting people in residential settings and in their own homes. Alongside his professional roles, Patrick volunteers with the Link Visiting Scheme and Readistreet, helping to reduce isolation and support people in the community.
As Service Manager for Out & About, Patrick is excited to work with families, colleagues, and customers to grow and improve the service. He believes Wokingham Borough has so much to offer and is committed to ensuring everyone can enjoy inclusive, high-quality activities that build confidence and connections.
