The National Autistic Society’s Autism Accreditation Programme is the UK’s only autism-specific quality assurance programme of support and development for all those providing services to autistic people.
A person supported by the team said, "The staff are incredibly friendly and passionate. Optalis ensures that everyone they work with feels valued, empowered, confident, and independent. Supported Employment works at your pace and adapts to your individual needs and circumstances."
This nationally recognised accreditation reflects the team’s commitment to supporting neurodivergent people, including autistic individuals, to develop skills, gain confidence, and access employment opportunities. The service places a strong emphasis on person‑centred approaches, ensuring that support is tailored to each individual’s strengths, goals and aspirations.
The assessment highlighted key strengths including clear, structured communication and the effective use of tools to help people express themselves and make choices. The team was recognised for its strengths‑based approach, supporting individuals to build independence and confidence through tailored coaching and employment support. The service was also commended for its proactive, trauma‑informed approach to sensory needs and wellbeing, working with employers to create supportive environments where people can thrive.
Donna Morgans, Head of Supported Employment Services said: This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred, neurodiverse-affirming support for autistic and neurodivergent individuals. Creating an inclusive environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding is at the heart of what we do, ensuring people are empowered with opportunities to thrive. A huge thank you to our incredible team whose compassion, professionalism, and dedication made this achievement possible. This is a milestone we can all be proud of.
Lisa Myers, Head of National Autistic Society: Learn, said: "We are delighted that Optalis Supported Employment Service has achieved the Autism Specialist Award. The team should be exceptionally proud of their achievement and commitment towards improving support for autistic people."
