Celebrating 30 years of friendships and support

We met with Paul, who has recently celebrated a significant milestone of attending the Community Lives Westmead Service for 30 years! We found Paul chatting with his friends in the garden of Westmead, sitting under an apple tree, sharing a cup of tea,

While some things have changed over the years, Paul explains his reasons for choosing Westmead,

“I went to another centre, but I was bored. Over the years I have done so many things, a sponsored swim, and sponsored walks. I raised over £400 swimming! I still go swimming with the staff, it is really good for me.”

Paul goes on to explain why he enjoys attending Westmead

“I like seeing other people, the people who come here, they are all my friends.” he adds, “I’d like to thank the staff here for all their support, 30 years is a long time, but I’ll be here for a little while longer.”

The team at Westmead held a small celebratory lunch for Paul to mark this milestone.

Thank you Paul, for choosing Westmead for so many years!
