Loddon Court Refurbishment

We are excited to share with you some updates on the ongoing renovation at Loddon Court Short Breaks Service. We have been working with Wokingham Borough Council to ensure that essential upgrades to the Loddon Court building can take place.

Following meetings to plan with families and the people we support. We have closed the building to allow for extensive work to be carried out, with the aim of improving accessibility, safety and improving the overall aesthetic of the space.

We are delighted to report that the building work is well underway and is on track to be completed by the summer. The focus of the project is to improve accessibility to the bathrooms and kitchen, with the aim of meeting the needs of everyone who visits Loddon Court. The redecoration work allows us to incorporate improved safety features using the latest technology to ensure full compliance with regulations and best practice, so that everyone who uses Loddon Court can feel safe and secure.

Changes are being made to the layout to make better use of the space and create a more welcoming environment. We will also be introducing a fresh look, with modern design features and a bright, uplifting colour scheme.

To help mitigate the impact, we have supported people who use the service to either bank their support hours and use them before or after the work is carried out or to use their support in different ways. People have been enjoying short breaks in different settings, such as overnight hotel stays and using different venues. We have received great feedback on these stays, so far.

We are looking forward to being able to welcome everyone back to the new and improved Loddon Court soon!
