Building Confidence: Phil’s Day at Odds Farm
30 June 2026
Recently, Phil visited Odds Farm with Kelly and Sasha from his support team. Not long ago, a trip like this would have felt out of reach.
A few years ago, Phil had a fall and spent a long time in hospital. After that, he stopped walking and lost his confidence in going out. He stayed at home and found it hard to sit in his wheelchair for very long.
Over time, the team worked alongside Phil, always at his pace. They began with short trips close to home and slowly built up his confidence.
Becky, one of the team, said, “We showed Phil pictures of Odds Farm and talked about the visit. He was really looking forward to it.”
The day itself showed just how far Phil has come.
When asked about the trip, he said, “It was alright.” He spoke about touching the goats, adding, “they were good, they were,” and proudly showed his new Highland cow keyring from the gift shop.
This is a simple reminder that steady, patient support can help people get back to the things that matter.
