A Week of Adventure, Laughter, and New Memories

Becky, accompanied by her support team from Brill House Independent Living service, enjoyed an unforgettable holiday this June. After arriving at Calvert Trust in North Devon, they were warmly welcomed by the instructors, who introduced them to the exciting activities planned for the week ahead.

Becky enjoyed a week full of exciting activities, including cycling around a reservoir in an adapted bike, trying her hand at archery. To everyone’s delight, she outscored her support workers—proving she had a natural talent for it!

She continued her week with a visit to the stables for a carriage ride, and even abseiling down a hillside. Becky was raring to start her descend but the support worker not so much. luckily Becky was there to calm her support through it whilst laughing.

Becky explained, “I had so many favourite parts of my holiday. I loved the abseiling and the zip wire and going out for tea in my pjs and making may support workers dress in them too!”

Taking a break from the outdoor activities, Becky joined lively games of boccia and wheelchair football, tackled crate stacking, and soared on the giant swing—all with a big smile and plenty of laughter shared with her team and new friends.

Friday morning came too soon. After breakfast with the new friends they had made, it was time to pack up and head home. The week had been filled with adventure and thrills and fun.
