Wellbeing Conference celebrates World Mental Health Day

Tuesday 9 October 2018

The event was designed to provide information about services and support services across Wokingham as well as some inspirational speakers and exciting workshops. Optalis Supported Employment Service Manager Donna Morgans and her team were at the event to support and provide guidance on education courses, volunteering and employment opportunities.

The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day was Young People’s Mental Health and there were specific sessions highlighting this important issue such as ‘Depression and self-harm in young people’ and Anxiety: tips for parents and relaxation techniques for young people.

Donna Morgans said, “This was a fantastic opportunity for people to find help, support and information from experts in their field. As a Mental Health First Aider I know how important it is for people to talk about mental health issues in a supported environment. I am pleased that Optalis was able to contribute funding to support this important initiative.
