Optalis raises money for Wheels of Experience!
Sunday 1 January 2012
Linda Robson, Operational Team Manager at Optalis, recently organised a very successful Christmas raffle, which raised £210 for Wheels of Experience, a charity based in nearby Aldershot, Hampshire. The charity raises money to buy wheelchair-accessible motorhomes for disabled children.
The inspiration to hold the raffle came from Optalis Social Worker Jen Daines, who had a very personal reason for wanting to help the charity.
Jen said: “As a child, my 13 year old brother sustained a serious head injury after a road traffic accident. He was left severely disabled. We were supported by funds raised by our local newspaper at the time, which enabled us to buy a special ambulance which literally opened up the world to him again. It is so nice to be able to help families in a similar position, and in some small way repay the generosity of others to my family.”
Wheels of Experience said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Jen and everyone at optalis who contributed.”
