Regaining life skills
We offer a range of activities designed to help you rebuild and adapt skills affected by a physical disability, sensory impairment, illness or injury so that you can get on with your life.
All of our staff at Westmead Day Service are specially trained and qualified to help you become more independent. You’ll be assigned your own Key Worker to make sure your individual needs are met.
Current activities include:
- Arts and crafts, including picture framing and pottery – we have our own kiln
- Games and quizzes
- Discussion groups
- Gym and sports
- Trips to art galleries and museums.
Let us know if there’s something you’d like to have a go at that isn’t already on offer!
We can help you brush up on skills like adult literacy, or learn new ones, lT. It might even open up opportunities for employment or volunteering. The centre has its very own computer suite, and we have special software that will help if you have difficulty communicating or using a mouse or keyboard.
The centre is open 9am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-3pm on Fridays.
