Staff excellence celebrated at Awards Ceremony

Dedicated individuals and teams at Optalis took part in an awards ceremony at Easthampstead Park Conference Centre on 6th June to celebrate going the extra mile. The event consisted of presentations of a certificate and shopping vouchers to the winners followed by an afternoon tea and was attended by all the shortlisted candidates, their nominators and senior managers from Optalis.
A judging panel consisting of staff and a customer chose the winners based on how they live the Optalis Core Values in all they do for customers, colleagues and the local community. There was also a special award for the team that had excelled in their role and new for this year was a Customer Choice award where customers have been encouraged to have their say and nominate an Optalis member of staff who had gone the extra mile for them.

Communication Award – Josh Hancock, Supported Employment Service
Respect Award – Jean McIntyre, Physical Disability and Older People’s Team
Customer Service Award – Patsy Lees, Brokerage & Professional Support Team
Transparency & Integrity Award – Cheryl Cox, Alexandra Place
Enjoyable & Rewarding Award – Theresa Staple, Homecare Team
Continuous Development Award – Jack Parker, Supported Employment Service
Customer Choice Award – The Homecare Team and Occupational Therapist Laura McCalister
Outstanding Team Effort Award – Nicholson House Care and Support Team
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Optalis Chairman David Cook said, “This is the third year of our Star Awards celebration, and I am delighted that it continues to grow each year, and continues to highlight the outstanding ways that our colleagues and volunteers make a real difference to our customers. As Chairman, it is a privilege to witness the dedication and commitment I see right across Optalis on a daily basis.
