The group who run the café and food delivery service at Westmead in Rances Lane, Wokingham have received 5 stars from the Food Standards Agency after an unannounced visit to ensure that the requirements of food safety legislation are met at the service.
The inspectors were very impressed with the café set up, how professional the service was and the high standard of the catering. The team also inspected the Westmead kitchen where the customers prepare meals for themselves or to take home to their families and again received fantastic comments. Service Manager Kim Davis said, “We are all thrilled to have received the highest recognition. We pride ourselves on producing high quality meals which are prepared by the customers themselves so this is a big honour for all of us.”
The Westmead Café recently launched a lunch delivery service which has proved a huge success. Every day, a selection of fresh, homemade sandwiches, salads and baked potatoes prepared by Optalis customers are delivered to the Optalis headquarters in Molly Millars Lane. Finance Manager Sharon Nelson said, “The Westmead café delivery service is excellent with healthy options at great prices. The food is delicious and it’s great to support customers with their enterprise too.”
