Mokattam is a 6 room residential house for working age adults living with learning and/or physical disabilities. Optalis is currently recruiting two full-time support workers to join their Mokattam house to provide person-centred care to the individuals living in the house. The working shifts are usually 7am – 3pm or 2pm-10pm, with some waking nights available. Optalis is looking for someone who is able to work within the team and able to shift lead where required. 6 months experience working in a relevant field is desired. This role requires someone who holds a full, clean UK driving license and is prepared to drive on company business and able to drive a manual vehicle.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic support workers to work in our unique Independent Living Service (ILS) supporting people with Learning Disabilities who live in their own home. We have services in Wokingham, Winnersh and Ryeish Green. For this role you need to be a car driver with use of a vehicle, and some houses have a manual transmission ‘house vehicle’ which you may be required to drive. As ILS is a very diverse service, for the right candidate, we may consider a non-care driver for an exceptional candidate. You need to be creative especially in the use public transport in order to support our customers with their daily needs. The hours for this role can vary depending on the customers care packages, but tend to start from 7am-3pm or 3pm-10pm (full-time support workers will have to be available for at least one sleep in every 7-10days, depending on the service). You will receive a comprehensive induction and on-going training programme, as well as regular supervision to ensure you are fully equipped to support our customers. You will also have the support of a Registered Manager and large staff team including Deputy Managers and Senior Support Workers. We are looking for a qualified social worker with some experience in a statutory setting to work within a busy and dynamic team based in the centre of Wokingham. Your role will include completing re-assessments of need under the Care Act for adults with a variety of disabilities and needs. A key part of our service is supporting our customers to use their Personal Budgets to achieve desired outcomes and improve the quality of their lives within an agreed Support Plan.  Another aspect of this role is reviewing and monitoring how well these Support Plans are working.

You will be expected to work within our robust Safeguarding Procedures with the support of our Safeguarding Team in addition to supporting our Duty Team as required. You will also be responsible for managing your own caseload.

Are you interested in working as a Rehabilitation Care Assistant (RCA) supporting residents in their own environment? The Short Term Support and Rehab (STR&R) service provides this unique service via Optalis and in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council. We are looking for RCA’s to deliver both care and rehabilitation across the borough.

You will provide personal care, assistance with transfers, manual handling and mobility support, supervise clients whilst they complete a set rehabilitation programme and encourage independence in activities of daily living (ADL). We will ensure that you are trained to deliver the care and rehabilitation needed. You will be supervised by our Coordinators and will be part of our RCA team. These posts form part of our care rota so it is essential that you can work a mixed shift pattern of both early and late shifts including alternate weekends and bank holidays.
